Petya Shalamanova is a Chicago based photographer and art director. She was born and raised in Bulgaria and moved to the United States in 2002. After briefly living in Las Vegas Petya moved to Chicago to pursue her education in Art and received her BFA from Columbia College Chicago in 2010. Petya focuses on documentary work and works commercially in Fashion and Beauty for various clients and publications. Her work is published and exhibited internationally. Petya is recipient of Numerous awards including Magenta Foundation for The Arts, Kodak Eastman Scholarship, Linda Levy Award, Alumni Scholarship and Graduation Grant from Columbia College Chicago among others. Currently working as a regular contributer for Chicago Magazine, Vice and Elle Bulgaria. Petya spends her time between United States and Europe, working on assignments and her personal work, she is available for domestic and international shoots.
